Foliage And Pathways After The Rain

I was out for a late Autumn hike, savoring every bit of the rich performance the trees put on in October. Yellows, reds and bold oranges filled my view at every corner of the pathway and through the rain, I couldn’t help but want to wrap it all up and bring it back with me, it felt so good to see.

It was so refreshing to see the best of the season and the rainy weather made me feel right at home.

I was out long enough that the rain came and went, leaving marks on the pavement signalling that once upon an hour on that particular day, the skies emptied and covered the world in grey. There’s something about an Autumn rain that fills my soul up so much; It’s that impulse to curl up with a good book, your favorite person and/or a cup of tea. There is something so undoubtedly cozy about that time of year and I was more than happy to revel in all of it.

While walking back home, gratitude and the Universe greeted me on the sidewalk in the shape of a heart as if to say, “You keep thanking this life for all it’s given you and this one is just for you.”

There are hearts meant for others or caused by other phenomena but sometimes, there are some hearts that the Universe puts on your path because they genuinely are just for you.

And it’s learning that it’s more than okay to be selfish and savor every second of that fact.
